Why Troll Havn is unique

Troll Havn is not about watching. It is about being there.

The Sámi tradition carried here is not performed for guests. It is practiced by a shaman who has spent a lot of years inside this knowledge. When he lights the fire, beats the drum, or opens the ceremonial space, something real happens. You are invited to be part of it, not as a spectator, but as a participant.

This land has been Sámi ground for centuries. The rituals that take place here today are the same ones that were practiced long before tourism existed. That continuity is what makes Troll Havn different. You are not learning about a culture from the outside. You are stepping into it, feeling it, and taking something genuine home with you.

Discover the living traditions of the North
LIVING MUSEUM OF TRADITIONS

Learn about Sámi rituals, shamanic cosmology, and ceremonies passed down through generations not from books, but from a practicing Sámi shaman. Participate in collective drumming, hear ancient stories around the sacred fire, and hold a traditional drum in your own hands.

BEAUTIFUL NORTHERN LIGHTS

In the aurora season, we offer special evening programs where shamanic drumming, sacred fire ritual, and the silence of the Arctic night come together under the possibility of the Northern Lights. The ceremony is complete in itself and when the Aurora appears, it becomes something unforgettable

LEGENDS & ART OF THE TROLLS

Trolls in Norwegian tradition are not fairy tale creatures. They are ancient forces of nature, guardians of the landscape. At Troll Museum, a local storyteller brings these myths back to life through atmosphere and folklore. Here the old stories breathe.

Four Voices. A Shamanic Journey to the Elements

Dates: 8 - 10 May

Price: 4500 NOK

Type: Weekend course

The course is led by a practising shaman in the Saami tradition. Over many years he has studied and transmitted the living knowledge of natural forces, land spirits, and the oral wisdom of the peoples of the North. His work is rooted in authentic practice, not reconstruction. He does not teach about nature. He brings you to it.

Over three days, from Friday evening to Sunday midday, you will work with the four elements of the Saami tradition: Earth, Water, Air and Fire. Each element has its own session, its own trommereise (drum journey), and its own encounter with the spirit-guardians of that force.

All of this takes place in a shamanic lavvo, at the sacred hearth, surrounded by the fjord and northern forest. The nature here is not a backdrop. It is part of the practice.
